SALINAS, Calif. — A woman was rushed to the hospital after eating Halloween candy the family claims was tainted. According to TV station KSBW the candy was actually given to a 16-month-old trick-or-treater and coincidentally eaten by the girl’s mother. The mom immediately started to feel ill and showed symptoms of LSD consumption.
Her brother, Eduardo, took her to an emergency room for treatment. He was haunted to think about what would have happened if the toddler had eaten the candy.
“With that kind of strength I almost shudder to think what could have happened to my niece, it would have been far too strong of a dosage for a toddler,” Eduardo told KSBW.
An investigation has been opened as a result because authorities believe it was injected with some type of acid. They also believe the incident is isolated.
